Govt. (State) College of Education, Patiala

Government College of Education, Patiala is a premier institute of teacher education in the northern part of the country founded in 1955 with the aim of producing quality teachers at secondary and higher education level. Initially, the college was proposed to be the Regional College of Education. Ever since its inception, the college through its highly qualified and dedicated staff, excellent academic and co-curricular facilities and continuously upgraded curriculum, has been meeting the dreams of the founders. The institute is spread over an area of 41.74 standard acres. It has spacious SMART classrooms, VIRTUAL classroom, laboratories, computer labs, psychology lab, educational technology lab, library, auditorium, lecture halls, dispensary, facilities for indoor games,  fitness centre and playgrounds for different kinds of games and activities. The institution has residential facilities for 300 students in separate boys and girls hostels. The equipment in various laboratories is continuously added modernized with the grants received from various funding agencies. 

All the courses (B.Ed. and M.Ed.) are approved by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE).
